Pour un retour en force, c'est un sacré retour en force! Des mélodies hallucinantes servies par une voix dont la puissance laisse admiratif, voilà la composante principale de cet album qui déborde d'une énergie éblouissante. Pour commencer, il y a les singles "explose-tympans" qui sont déjà sortis comme "Sex Drive" et "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)" où les effets sont multipliés avec génie et apportent encore à la force initiale de la composition. Pour ce qui est du reste de l'album, disons qu'il serait vain d'en chercher la faiblesse, la baisse de régime, le petit truc qui fera qu'on ne mettra pas 20/20. Tous les objectifs sont atteints haut la main, du bâton de dynamite sonore ("I'm A Star", "Nukleopatra" ou encore "Spend The Night Together") au plastiquage de décibels plus sournois mais qui fait mouche aussi rapidement ("Unhappy Birthday", "Sleep With You" et l'extraordinaire "International Thing"). Avec cet album, Dead Or Alive enfonce d'un grand coup de pied les portes qui donnent sur le son du futur, celui qui, bien au-delà de la branlette techno, révélera les capacités musicales délirantes de cette fin de siècle. Une grande leçon en même temps qu'une grande découverte. Profitez-en vite, découvrez Dead Or Alive avant que les médias ne se décident enfin à lui faire la publicité qu'il mérite. With this album, Dead Or Alive, with a great kick, bursts in the doors which lead into the sound of future, the one above of a techno "wank", which will reveal the raving musical capacities at the end of this century. At the same time, a great lesson and a great discovery. Make the most of the opportunity, discover Dead Or Alive before the media actually decide to give him the publicity that he deserves.
